What Are Employee Match Programs?
Employee match programs are a benefit that companies offer to encourage and reward giving among their staff. Think of this as free money you are empowered to employ on behalf of your community and the world. Most companies will match an employee’s gift to a charity one-to-one, but others match gifts two-to-one, and some even match donations three-to-one! This means that your gift to a charity can be worth two to four times as much as you donate.

How it works
- Make your personal donation to Friends of Bocconi. You can donate online by credit card or PayPal, mail a check, or send a wire transfer (email Leila Horn for wire details). To support The American Fund, choose it as your gift designation. You will receive a donation receipt.
- Go to your company’s matching gift portal. Your company may run the program itself or through a platform such as Benevity, YourCause, or CyberGrants.
- Search for Friends of Bocconi using EIN 36-4769050. The EIN is the most reliable way to find the right organization.
- Enter your donation details. You’ll usually need the date, amount, and payment method, and you may need to upload your receipt.
- Add a designation if asked. You can enter: “The American Fund – Need-Based Financial Aid for Bocconi University Students.”
- We’ll verify your gift. Your company will ask Friends of Bocconi to confirm your donation, then send the matching gift directly or through its platform.
